Back in 2018 Hartshorne ISD made the smart decision to build a dome gymnasium, South Industries built the dome and MacHill Construction did all the finishing work.  This beautiful, spacious dome is not only a gymnasium but also a storm shelter, benefiting the whole community.  Since Oklahoma is a part of tornado alley many school districts are deciding to build domes to help protect the school children as well as the community. Monolithic domes are very strong and can withstand F5 tornado winds and many other natural disasters.  Monolithic domes are also very energy efficient and keep the building at a constant temperature.
